Hull and deck

  • Hull and deck made by vacuum-infusion of epoxy-carbon sandwich with Corecell as core material and cured in three shots as per supplier's instructions.
  • Painting of the hull and the entire deck with 2-component paint (no gelcoat!).
  • Antifouling.
  • All bulkheads and hull/deck joint joined with vacuum-cured laminates.
  • 2 watertight bulkheads in the forepeak, and watertight stern area separated from the interior of the boat.
  • Crash box in the bow

 

Keel

  • Variable draught (4 m, can be reduced to 1.65 m).
  • Keel fin made of carbon, keel bottom made of lead. Therefore very low center of gravity, high stability (= high righting moment) and high performance.
  • Hydraulic keel swinging mechanism with pressure relief valve for maximum safety in case of grounding.

 

Rig

  • High-modulus carbon mast set far aft with aft-raked carbon spreaders, which means that the mast does not require a backstay or runners. This allows a squaretop mainsail to be carried without any additional handling.
  • Carbon main boom with carbon hayracks and very low-positioned luff fitting. This allows the mainsail to be furled comfortably and safely – just standing on the deck.
  • J2 stay with manual furler and manual hydraulic tensionner
  • Standing rigging made of PBO.

Deck layout
